Starter Kit

Every beginner chef has to find where to start. For me, it's preparing my kitchen for the mayhem that's about to occur. What I've learned is that a few ingredients and utensils are essential keep handy in your kitchen prior to "undergoing the knife". Below is what I feel every kitchen should have:


Essential Ingredients

  • Cooking Spray (i.e. Pam)
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Flour
  • Sugar
  • Cornstarch
  • Canola or Vegetable Oil
  • Soy Sauce
  • Lemon or Lime Juice

  • Dried Chicken or Beef Bouillon
  • Onions
  • Potatoes
  • Pasta or Rice
  • Milk
  • Eggs
  • Butter or Margerine
  • Fresh or Dried Garlic
  • Mexican or Italian Seasonings



Essential Equipment
  • Sturdy Set of Pot and Pans
  • Set of Knives (A Paring knife and Large knife, specifically)
  • Baking Pans (A Baking Sheet and an 8 inch square Pan)
  • Stackable Bowls
  • Colander
  • Can Opener
  • Spatula
  • Measuring Cups and Spoons
  • Cutting Board
  • Hot Pads/Oven Mitts
